Draft — pending legal review

This is a working draft. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before it takes effect. Text in highlighted brackets, such as [Business legal name — to be provided], marks details we have not filled in yet, and boxes labelled “Note for legal review” are questions for our reviewer. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the law where you live.

1.Our goal

We want everyone to be able to use the UniversalMC website. We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

The website has not yet been formally audited, so we do not claim that it fully meets WCAG 2.2 AA. This statement describes what we have done so far, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us about a problem.

2.What we have done

  • A “Skip to content” link lets keyboard and screen reader users go straight to the main content.
  • Interactive elements show a clearly visible focus outline when you use a keyboard.
  • If you have turned on “reduce motion” in your device settings, the website keeps animations to a minimum.
  • Decorative background effects are hidden from screen readers.
  • The cookie notice shows “Accept all” and “Reject non-essential” as equally prominent buttons, and its settings panel can be closed with the Escape key.
  • Policy pages like this one use clear headings, a table of contents, and a comfortable line length for reading.

3.Known limitations

  • The website has a dark design only. There is no light theme yet.
  • Some images added by staff, such as news images, may not always have good text descriptions.
  • Payment happens on Stripe’s checkout page, which Stripe designs and runs. Its accessibility is Stripe’s responsibility, but tell us if it causes you problems and we will pass it on and help you another way where we can.
  • The Minecraft game itself is made by Mojang. Its accessibility settings are in the game’s own options menu.
  • Discord and server-list voting websites are run by other companies.

4.Report a problem or ask for another format

If something on the website is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us through Support or by email at [Support email address — to be provided]. It helps if you include:

  • the web address of the page;
  • what you were trying to do and what went wrong; and
  • the device, browser, and any assistive technology you use (such as a screen reader or magnifier).

You can also ask for information on this website, including any policy, in a different format, such as plain text.

5.What happens next

We aim to reply within [target response time — to be decided] and to tell you what we plan to do. If we cannot fix the problem quickly, we will try to give you the information or service another way.
